B. Sc. in Information Technology

Information Technology is an interdisciplinary science primarily concerned with analysis,  collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information.  Information Technology is the area of managing technology and spans wide variety of areas that include computer software, information systems, computer hardware, programming languages but are not limited to things such as processes, and data constructs. In short, anything that renders data, information or perceived knowledge in any visual format whatsoever, via any multimedia distribution mechanism, is considered part of the IT domain. IT provides businesses with four sets of core services to help execute the business strategy: business process automation, providing information, connecting with customers, and productivity tools. IT professionals perform a variety of functions (IT Disciplines/Competencies) that ranges from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases.  The duties that IT professionals perform may include data management, networking,  engineering computer hardware, database and software design, as well as management and administration of entire systems. Information technology is spreading further than the conventional personal computer and network technologies, and more into integrations with other technologies such as the use of cell phones, televisions, automobiles, and more, which is increasingthedemandfor such jobs.

As per the guidelines received from University of Mumbai, a candidate seeking for admission in B. Sc. (Information Technology) Course shall have passed the HSC  Examination from Science Stream with Mathematics as one of the subjects of Maharashtra  Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination at one and the same sitting or any examination recognized as equivalent and should have secured not less than 45% of marks(Open Category) and not less than 40% of marks for students belonging to Reserved Category.

OR

Candidates who have passed Diploma in Computer Engineering/ Computer Science/ Computer  Technology/Information Technology/ Electrical, Electronic and Applied Branches, Mechanical and Allied Branches, Civil and Allied Branches of engineering after SSC (X Standard) are also eligible for admission to the Second Year of B. Sc.(IT). However, Diploma should be recognized by the Board of Technical Education or any other recognized government body. Eligible candidate must have secured minimum of 45% of marks for open category and 4o% of marks for candidate belonging to the Reserved Category.

Students with post HSC-Diploma in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Information  Technology and allied branches will be eligible for direct admission in the Second Year of B. Sc. in  Information Technology. However, Diploma should be recognized by the Board of Technical  Education or any other recognized government body.

All admissions will be given on the basis of merit and as per the rules and regulations received  from University of Mumbai and Government of Maharashtra

Tuition Fees and other fees including deposits receivable from the students Term wise / Year  wise:

The Fees structure for students belonging to Reserved Category is as per the guidelines received from University of Mumbai and Social Welfare Office, Thane.

Increased fees will have to be paid as and when declared by the University of Mumbai.
